First Analysis in VT Planner

Step-by-step guide to create a VT Planner project, save a building, configure an elevator setup, run the first analysis, and review results.

This guide summarizes the shortest path to get a first verifiable result in VT Planner.

Step by Step

  1. Go to Projects and select Create project.
  2. Fill in Project name and, if needed, Description.
  3. Open the project and go to the Building tab.
  4. Complete Building basics: name, type, upper floors, and basements.
  5. Review Floor table: entrances, heights, and population by floor.
  6. Select Save building.
  7. Go to Elevator setups and create a Fixed setup.
  8. Complete Setup details, Group definition, Motion profile, Doors, and Passenger transfer.
  9. Save the configuration with Save setup.
  10. Go to Analysis, choose the analysis mode, and select Run calculation or Run simulation.
  11. Open Results to review history, the report, and PDF export.
New project before configuring the building
A new project guides the user to configure the building before creating setups or running analyses.

Unlock Rules

VT Planner unlocks the flow in stages:

  • without a saved building, Elevator setups and Analysis remain blocked;
  • without a saved elevator setup, you cannot run an analysis;
  • if you change the building after saving a setup, that setup may be marked as Outdated;
  • if an analysis is queued or running, you must wait for it to finish before launching another.

Expected Result

When finished, you should see:

  • a saved building with Building saved status;
  • an elevator setup with Setup ready status;
  • a run in Run history;
  • an embedded report if the run completed successfully;
  • the Export PDF button available for supported results.
