VT Planner Settings and Units Guide
Guide to changing VT Planner display units, understanding metric and imperial values, and reviewing how unit preferences affect reports and saved runs.
The Settings page stores workspace preferences that affect how VT Planner displays project data.

Units card lets you switch between Metric and Imperial display units.Change Units
- Open
Projects. - Select
Settingsin the workspace navigation. - In
Units, chooseMetricorImperialunderPreferred unit system. - Return to a project to continue editing or reviewing results with the selected display units.
What Changes
The unit preference affects values shown in the app and reports:
| Input or Output | Metric |
Imperial |
|---|---|---|
| Floor heights | meters | feet |
| Elevator capacity | kilograms | pounds |
| Rated speed | meters per second | feet per minute |
| Door width | millimeters | inches |
Time values, percentages, populations, passengers, and run statuses keep the same meaning in both unit systems.
Reports and Saved Runs
Reports use the unit system active when the report view is built. If you change units and reopen a completed run in Results, VT Planner rebuilds the report view with the new display units where supported.
