VT Planner Workspace Guide

Learn how the VT Planner workspace is organized, including project navigation, setup steps, action states, settings, and display units.

The VT Planner workspace organizes work in two levels: the general project list and the internal workspace for each project.

From the main shell you can access:

  • Projects: project list for the user or account.
  • New project: create a new project.
  • Account: account and plan information.
  • Settings: workspace preferences such as display units.
  • Sign out: end the current session.

Some actions depend on the plan, permissions, and account status.

Inside a Project

Each project uses side tabs:

  • Overview: current context, latest result, and recent activity.
  • Building: saved building or building editor.
  • Elevator setups: elevator configurations and parameter sweeps.
  • Analysis: setup selection and run launch.
  • Results: history, reports, and export.
Project workspace
The workspace summarizes the building, setups, and recent results.

Setup Stepper

When the project is not complete yet, VT Planner shows Project setup. The stepper indicates the expected order:

  1. Building: save geometry, entrances, and population.
  2. Elevator setups: save at least one configuration.
  3. Analysis: run the first analysis.
  4. Results: review the history and report.

Action Bar

In tabs such as Building, Elevator setups, and Analysis, the top bar shows:

  • current step;
  • status such as Building saved, Draft setup, Setup ready, Outdated, or Read-only;
  • contextual actions such as Save building, Save setup, Run calculation, Previous, and Next.

Settings

Use Settings when you need to switch between Metric and Imperial display units. The preference affects building and elevator dimensions in forms, summaries, and supported report views.

Maintenance Notice

New account access is temporarily paused.

VT Planner is in maintenance while we prepare the next access window. Free trials and new plan subscriptions are planned to reopen on May 31, 2026.
